“What a busy 2013 for VCM. We may be a small club but our members are very proactive.
We have members who are commissaries to racing in the area.
Our coaches, who give up their free time to coach at Marsh Tracks, have added to their level 2 qualifications by attending add on courses in BMX, mountain biking, road & TT. We have one coach just awaiting completion of his level 2 and two further members about to undertake level 2 to add to the team.
We have an established TT series with Rhyl CC & our very own Andy Malcolm  is Chair of the regional branch at Cycling Time Trials organisation. A 2014 calendar will follow early in the New Year.
I am pleased to report that VCM is now a registered GO-RIDE club and we are working towards accreditation. Visit BC website for more information.
I am also pleased to report that I will be collecting a cheque from RWE npower renewables/Prestatyn & Meliden Community Fund on Monday 4th November. Our grant application was accepted & will enable us to buy 8 new bikes for under 12’s coaching (4 road bikes and 4 muddy melyd bikes).
Our Youth section is expanding. Ben Lewis has had a successful year racing & triathlon. Reece Donachie has competed in the local time trial series & completed his first Wild Wales Challenge. Laura Ellis has taken part in a couple of TTs & attends regular coaching sessions to improve her skills. Lucy Lee & Dave Tudor were selected for Marsh Tracks Race Team. Dave & Lucy have travelled the country competing. Lucy has had a very successful season and is now competing in the cyclocross series. Dave’s TT times have improved considerably & he has earned Cat 3 status in racing. Well done all.
The club Tuesday & Sunday rides are very well attended with new riders adding to the compliment all the time.
Our members have taken part in many events this year.
I just felt I wanted to share some of this information regarding club achievement. If you are reading this & you are not a member……why not?
Looking forward to the Award/Presentation/social Faenol Fawr on the 29th November.”

Great words bringing the whole VCM account into focus – and encouraging the re-birth of this website.
