The Ffestiniog360 has come around again. This year heading in an anti-clockwise direction, so taking in more right hand turns – however still promises to be a great day out on the bike for all abilities. 62.4 miles, and 3,954ft of climbing. Furthermore the weather gods appear to be smiling upon us.
It has been suggested that the VCM party heads off at 0930 – although possibly splitting into two groups after this…. allowing for a difference in pace. Last year there was a great turn out from the club, and the weather stayed off until we were all changed and heading home. Here is to hoping for a better year this year – whether 62 miles 3400ft is a big challenge or a week off – its a great excuse to get together at the same event and support a very worthy local challenge Ty Gobath / Hope House.
For more information on the route – head over the the Ffestiniog 360 route 2015 site for more information.
Heading out from the start and left and out of Blaenau Ffestiniog  towards Rhyd, Garreg, Nantmore, and Beddgelert. On through Ffridd Uchaf, to Rhyd Ddu before skirting Llyn Cwellyn, and into Betws Garmon. On through Maunfawr, Ceunant, then to the right turn onto the Llanberis Road. Along to Cwm Y Glo, then left and Brynrefail, Pentir, Tregarth, and Coed Y Parc before joining the A5 after Bethesda. Following the Afon Ogwen along through Nant Ffrancon and the huge scenery of the Ogwen Valley Properly with Tryfan, Pen yr ol Wen, and the Glyderau. Heading down hill properly now through Capel Curig, to Betws y Coed. Then climbing back up and out up the Crimea Pass / A470 back into Blaenau Ffestiniog after the highest and steepest climbs of the day in the last ten five miles I should think.
I will see you there then!
